Lakeside Sport Club

A brand system and direct-to-consumer storefront for a sport and lifestyle apparel label, built so the brand carries through product discovery, checkout, and order fulfillment.

My role

Creative director: brand direction, storefront design and development, and the commerce and order platform, delivered through Higgins Digital.

The problem

A new apparel label has to look established before anyone will buy from it. Shoppers decide in seconds whether a brand is real, and a default storefront theme with a logo dropped in says the opposite.

My contribution

As creative director, I lead the brand's visual direction and digital commerce, and I designed and built the storefront end to end: brand application, product and collection pages, the commerce platform, and the admin tools the business runs orders from.

What I built

The brand is built into the shopping experience itself: a forest-green, gold, and cream identity, full-width product imagery, drop-style collections, and a phone-first buying path from size and color selection through a slide-out bag to secure hosted checkout.

Behind the storefront, every paid order lands in a durable order system with customer status links, transactional email, and an admin area for fulfillment, delays, cancellations, refunds, and exports.

  • Collection, category, and product pages with variants, color selection, and quick view.
  • Pre-order model with clear production and fulfillment communication.
  • Size guide, FAQ, shipping and returns, privacy, and ordering policies.
  • Editorial storytelling through campaign imagery and The Journal, with email capture for releases.

How it works

The store, not the browser, decides prices, and every order is recorded exactly once.

  3. Secure hosted checkout (Stripe)
  4. Order system
  5. Customer email · status link · admin tools

Key decisions

Never trust prices from the browser.

The store calculates what a shopper pays, so a modified cart cannot change the total.

Keep card data off the site.

Payment happens on a hosted checkout and the store records only the confirmed result.

Handle every order exactly once.

Payments, emails, and status updates are designed so retries or slow services cannot drop or duplicate an order.

Outcomes & evidence

Lakeside Sport Club is live at lakesidesportclub.com with a complete buying path, order management, and a consistent brand across product presentation, checkout, and customer communication.

Scope & limits

Sales, conversion, and order figures are not published here.

What I learned

A commerce experience needs consistent product information and clear fulfillment expectations as much as a strong visual identity.
